Working In the Round: Tunisian Reverse Stitch

The Tunisian Reverse Stitch (TRS)

The Tunisian Reverse Stitch is crucial for creating motifs in my 3D Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet method. This stitch makes the return pass yarn visible, which is in a contrasting colour, allowing the motifs to stand out.

How to Make the Tunisian Reverse Stitch:

  1. Identify the Back Vertical Bar:

    • Slightly turn your work to see the back of the stitch.

  2. Insert the Hook:

    • Insert your hook from right to left through the back vertical bar.

  3. Yarn Over:

    • Yarn over and pull up a loop.

  4. Continue:

    • Repeat the process for each stitch where the motif chart indicates 'R' for Reverse Stitch.

The Tunisian Reverse Stitch pushes the return pass yarn to the front of your work. This makes the return pass yarn visible and each stitch goes towards creating images in your crochet.
