Updated - Designing Oaklands — A Woodland-Inspired Tunisian Crochet Hat in Progress

The Sherwood (Now called Oaklands), named after the famous woodlands in the U.K., is my next Tunisian Crochet Hat design — a soft, leafy pattern inspired by autumn walks and the changing seasons reflected in historic oak trees. I’m still working on the sample in a lovely olive and sand Drops Alpaca yarn, and the texture already feels beautifully soft and squishy.
The motif is a repeating acorn and oak leaf design, using my Tunisian no-float colourwork method. It’s still growing, but I can already see the woodland magic coming together.
I’ll update when the finished pattern once it’s ready.

UPDATE: The Oaklands Beanie is finished and ready for you to crochet!
This advanced Tunisian Crochet Beanie pattern uses a No-Float method to create stranded colourwork look without messy floats, giving a tidy reverse and motifs that have subtle texture and depth. (see close up images below)
I chose alpaca yarn for its luxurious softness, warmth, and lightweight feel. Its natural halo enhances the motifs, making the beanie feel indulgent, while also being hypoallergenic and breathable.
Designed for makers confident with charts and working in the round, the Oaklands Beanie comes in two sizes (16–18" and 20–22" head circumference) and is perfect for those seeking a sophisticated, textural project.
