Designing Sherwood — A Woodland-Inspired Tunisian Crochet Hat in Progress
The Story Behind My Latest Autumn Inspired Hat

The Sherwood, named after one the most famous woodlands in the U.K., is my next Tunisian crochet hat design — a soft, leafy pattern inspired by autumn walks and the changing seasons reflected in historic oak trees. I’m still working on the sample in a lovely olive and sand Drops Alpaca yarn, and the texture already feels beautifully soft and squishy.
The motif is a repeating acorn and oak leaf design, using my Tunisian no-float colourwork method. It’s still growing, but I can already see the woodland magic coming together.
I’ll share the full story and photos soon — along with the finished pattern once it’s ready.
